Big-blade power with the comfort and control of an ergonomic bent shaft.
The Segla Serpent Carbon K-PRO combines a large 670 cmΒ² asymmetric Euro blade with an ergonomic bent shaft, creating a powerful sea kayaking paddle designed for paddlers who want a strong catch without the wrist position of a conventional straight shaft.
The blade measures 47.5 Γ 18 cm and shares the same large-blade format as the Ultimax K-PRO. It loads firmly at the catch and provides plenty of drive through the power phase, making the Serpent particularly well suited to open-water sea kayaking, exposed coastal paddling and situations where positive acceleration and boat control matter.
The key difference is the ergonomic bent shaft. Its geometry changes the alignment of the hands and wrists through the stroke, reducing the rotational movement required compared with a straight shaft. For paddlers covering long distances β or those who simply prefer the feel of a bent shaft β this can provide a more comfortable and natural paddling position while retaining the power of a large blade.
The K-PRO construction uses Toray 3D Hex Carbon Fiber S700SC over an Etha-lite Foam Core, producing a stiff and responsive blade with direct power transfer and a buoyant feel in the water.
A Full Kevlar Strap Edge reinforces the blade perimeter against impact and abrasion around rocky coastlines, while Segla's Hydrophobic Nano Coating helps water shed cleanly from the blade on each stroke.
The 29 mm shaft uses Segla's Nano-Coated Ergonomic Grip for a secure hold in wet and cold conditions.
The Vector Smart System provides tool-free adjustment of paddle length and feather, allowing the paddle to be set up for different boats, conditions and paddling preferences.
Two adjustable sizes are available: 208β218 cm at approximately 874 g and 214β224 cm at approximately 896 g. For most sea kayakers using a high-angle stroke, the shorter range will be appropriate, with the longer option particularly useful for taller paddlers or wider kayaks.
The Serpent is particularly interesting for paddlers who like the power and security of a larger blade but find a straight shaft tiring over longer distances. It retains the strong catch and immediate response of a performance paddle while making ergonomics a central part of the design.

Ben –
This paddle inspires confidence. Like the straight shaft ultimax, this big powerful blade just grips even in advanced conditions. I found the paddle smooth on entry and exit, & it became an extension of my body rather than something to wrestle with
