The course is designed to meet first aid requirements commonly attached to outdoor National Governing Body qualifications, including Paddle UK, Mountain Training and RYA pathways.
Please check the specific currency and first aid requirements for the qualification or role you hold. This course provides first aid training; it does not assess or award a paddlesport qualification.

How the course works
Two practical days at New Holmus Farm
For Remote First Aid, the Wheelhouse provides a comfortable indoor teaching base, while practical scenarios may use the wider Academy site. There is no travel to a paddling location.

Sea Kayak Academy hosts the course; the training is delivered by REAL First Aid Ltd.
Course content draws on current guidance and recognised sources including the UK Resuscitation Council, NICE, JRCALC, the Royal College of Surgeons Faculty of Pre-Hospital Care and the Wilderness Medical Society.

Before you book
- Two days and 16 training hours
- Typically 9:30am–5pm each day
- All training equipment is provided
- On-site participant camping is available
- Holmus Cottage and other local accommodation may be available
- Course operation is subject to minimum numbers
