New Holmus Farm · Pembrokeshire
The Sea Kayak Academy base
A calm rural place to meet, plan, check equipment and prepare properly before heading to the coast. Remote First Aid is taught here, while paddling days begin here and move to the most suitable stretch of coastline for the conditions.
New Holmus Farm is owned by Ant and Libby and is the Academy’s permanent home and working base—not a hired course venue.

More than a meeting point
A base designed for learning
New Holmus Farm gives us the space to begin each day well: talk through the plan, work with charts and forecasts, fit equipment and make decisions together before travelling to the water.

The Chart Room classroom
The green Chart Room is the Academy classroom: a dedicated place to work with charts, weather, tides and the day’s aims before the group commits to a venue.

Dedicated drying room
Wet equipment has somewhere practical to dry between days, particularly useful on multi-day courses and journeys.

Kit-washing facilities
Rinse and organise equipment after the day so it is ready to use again, without trying to manage everything beside the road.

Course kit and specialist shop
The Kit Room holds course equipment alongside a small specialist shop for paddles, clothing and accessories. Purchases and collections are available when attending or by prior arrangement.

INDOOR GUEST SPACE
The Wheelhouse
A spacious shared indoor area for campers and holiday-let guests, with sofas and a basic kitchen—somewhere comfortable to relax, eat and get out of the weather.
Find your way around
Arrive knowing where everything is
The guest map shows the arrival route, parking, campsite entrances, Chart Room, Wheelhouse, showers, recycling point and the areas that remain private. Your joining information is still the final word for arrival details.

A clear start to the day
What happens when you arrive
Meet at the Academy
The group meets at New Holmus Farm. We confirm the aims of the day and make sure everyone has what they need.
Learn, plan and make decisions
For many courses, this is a proper classroom session—not simply a briefing. We work through charts, weather, tides, hazards and route choices so you understand the decisions behind the day. The depth varies with the activity and your learning aims.
Put the plan into practice
Paddling groups travel to the chosen launch site and apply that thinking on the water. Remote First Aid remains at the Academy.

Visits are by appointment only. New Holmus Farm is our home and working base, so please do not arrive without a confirmed booking or appointment.
Our central Pembrokeshire location gives access to very different parts of the coast, with most launch sites around 25 minutes away. That flexibility matters: sea kayaking is conditions-led, so we choose an appropriate environment instead of forcing a fixed venue.
